1- Welding, Regulatory Inspection, and Qualification of Welders
INTRODUCTION
SARL NISHAN welding control and inspection services ensure compliance with welding standards or approval codes and additional client requirements (specifications, design codes, etc.), optimizing work to minimize associated costs. SARL NISHAN services are involved in conducting inspections of your installations and certifying your instruments and equipment. Through our approvals and certifications, we are capable of assisting you in implementing a quality certification program that aligns with international standards. The purpose of welding control and inspection is to ensure the reliability of welding procedures, the competence of welders, and the quality of welding work on structures (new equipment or repairs) according to national and international standards To meet the needs of our clients in terms of Welding Control & Inspection, a team of qualified and certified engineers and inspectors, along with high-tech equipment, is made available to our clients. The qualification of welding procedures and welders is a key focus, ensuring materials and parameters are correct for quality welds and the direct aptitude of welders.
A - Conventional Non-Destructive Testing (CND)
Non-destructive testing is a core activity of the General Inspection Company. With qualified personnel in various non-destructive testing methods maintaining high levels of competence through training and continuous updating of knowledge in each of our services, we provide efficient teams that guarantee quality services. Our interventions are carried out within regulatory frameworks on new structures, structures under maintenance, or as expertise, using the following methods:
Visual inspection allows the detection of any surface defects (cracks, scratches, porosities, cold shuts, lines, fissures, taps, deposits, corrosion traces, foreign bodies, tearing, etc.).
Radiography is a non-destructive testing method that involves obtaining an image of the material density of an object penetrated by X or gamma electromagnetic radiation. Radiography is a technique that visualizes the lack of material in the volume of the tested object in a two-dimensional image.
Ultrasonics have several advantages, such as the required access to only one side of the piece, sensitivity to defect detection, the ability to control the compactness of an entire given volume, and the positioning of detected indications within the thickness. Ultrasonic testing also allows the estimation of the significance of an indication based on its reflective power or the produced attenuation.
Magnetic particle testing is a widely used process in sectors such as metal construction, forging, boiler making, etc. It allows for the inspection of parts with simple or complex geometry. The relatively quick operation can be performed on small parts (10 mm long screws) as well as on large parts (ship crankshafts, aircraft landing gear).
Dye penetrant testing is an NDT method that easily integrates into production or maintenance chains. Apart from its low implementation cost, one of its main advantages is the ability to detect various defects, such as cracks, corrosion fissures, porosity, pitting, etc., with high reliability, regardless of their orientation and location on the part being inspected, as well as regardless of its size and geometry complexity.
B- Advanced Non-Destructive Testing (Advanced NDT)
Driven by rapid scientific and technological development, SARL NISHAN has invested in advanced NDT inspection technologies among its services to meet its clients’ needs in terms of performance, quality, safety, and cost optimization. In addition to conventional non-destructive testing, we have developed a new inspection methodology based on Advanced Non-Destructive Examination such as:
Phased Array (PA) is widely used in various industrial sectors, from power generation to construction. It is an advanced non-destructive testing method that uses ultrasonic technology to help professionals in the oil and gas industry assess component quality and identify risk factors.
We accompany you throughout your testing project with individualized solutions. Our expertise includes pre-inspection consulting, weld testing using TOFD techniques, data processing with our proprietary software, and assistance in interpreting inspection features. We believe that using TOFD inspection services will lead to significant time savings during new construction or reconstruction projects. Recording all inspection data is an excellent pre-service and internationally recognized inspection tool with defined codes, standards, and acceptance criteria available for use.
Automated ultrasonic inspection enables a rapid assessment of welds with precise results and positioning data. The simultaneous use of multiple probes allows for a very accurate evaluation of recorded indication dimensions. Constant coupling pressure and consistent probe alignment help reduce potential errors in the critical assessment of indications. It also offers the capability to map large corroded areas with high accuracy.
Eddy current testing facilitates calibration, high inspection speed, and the quantity of part inspection and defect detection without disassembly. This technique also has the advantage of sufficient sensitivity with reduced cleaning and implementation through non-conductive paint and coatings, up to 3 millimeters in thickness, without specific surface preparation.
